IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN WOMAN QUESTIONING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALCOHOL, YOU AREN'T ALONE.

Like you, I once struggled to reconcile my faith with my drinking habits, trying everything from willpower to prayer to find freedom. Through God's grace and evidence-based neuroscience, I discovered a better way—and now I help women like you find true freedom without hitting rock bottom.

My Journey from Faith to Alcohol and Back Again

As a child raised in the church with strong Christian values, alcohol wasn't a significant part of my life. My parents enjoyed occasional drinks at gatherings, but it was never central to our family life. However, my relationship with both faith and alcohol would change dramatically in my college years, as I gradually drifted from my spiritual foundation and replaced it with worldly connections—including alcohol.

In college and early in my marketing career, I discovered alcohol as my solution for social anxiety and fitting in. Instead of turning to prayer and faith-based community, I relied on what seemed like an easy fix. My social drinking was frequent but manageable, though it began creating distance between me and my faith.

Everything shifted in my 30s when life's challenges intensified.

Instead of turning to God for comfort and strength when life got hard, I began using alcohol as my primary coping mechanism. What had been social drinking transformed into a daily habit of self-medication. Wine replaced worship as my Sunday ritual, and that glass of wine became my go-to source of relief, comfort and escape.

Through my 40s, this dependence deepened. Despite outward success, I was trapped in a cycle where alcohol was my answer to everything—stress, anxiety, celebration and pain. The "fun girl" image masked a growing spiritual emptiness as alcohol became my false idol.

Hangovers became a regular part of my life. Mondays were a challenge, often starting with dread and feeling unprepared after weekend binges. I'd wake up promising myself 'never again,' only to reach for that familiar bottle by evening. I knew in my heart that alcohol had taken God's rightful place in my life.

I could see rock bottom looming. I knew I had to make a change.

In September 2020, through divine intervention, I discovered a 21-day alcohol challenge. While I wasn't ready to give up alcohol completely, God used this opportunity to begin opening my eyes to His better plan. My journey included multiple attempts at moderation and several 'Day 1s' before finding lasting freedom on November 11, 2021.

The transformation in my life since then has been nothing short of miraculous. My mornings, once clouded by hangovers and regret, are now filled with peaceful time in God's presence. This clarity and connection have rippled through every area of my life. My career flourished as I finally secured the VP of Marketing position I'd long pursued. My health improved dramatically - from better sleep to renewed energy and mental clarity. Most importantly, my relationships deepened as I became fully present and authentic with both God and others.

The freedom I found was so profound that I felt called to help other women discover this path. I left my corporate career to found Gracefully Sober, allowing me to live out God's purpose for my life in ways I never imagined possible when I was stuck in the alcohol cycle.

The key to my transformation was reconnecting with God while challenging my subconscious beliefs about alcohol.

As I rebuilt my relationship with Christ, I developed new, empowering beliefs about myself and my purpose and began recognizing His design for true joy and freedom.

Today, my God-given mission is to help other Christian women break free from the cycle of daily drinking before hitting rock bottom.
